Washington Mutual was at the epicenter of the concerns after being accused by the New York Attorney General of pressuring real estate appraisers to inflate the value of their appraisals. Oil prices stalled in their climb toward $100 a barrel Wednesday after a government report said oil inventories fell less than expected last week while refinery utilization remained flat..
